App of the month - Shazam

It's been a while but today am back with "app of the month". Today will talk about Shazam . This is no ordinary app; let's say you at a party and a cool new song comes up. Do you have to always get up and ask the dj for the title, I mean like asking for every single song they play? No!          Shazam is a music app, when ever a song is play just open the app on your phone let it hear or listen to the song just a few seconds then boom! It will give you a title and artist right away. Well if you think this is cool, there's more what shazam does! But I leave it to you get the app and enjoy exploring!

Getting started with Microsoft mobile phone

Today I will be talking about a Microsoft mobile phone (formerly Nokia Lumia devices) running Windows 8.1 OS going up. It has come to my attention; well based on a number of customers coming to our IT Shop in Area 18, on the problems most of the users of these Microsoft phones are having. Here are a few things you have to know when you are getting a brand new or second hand Microsoft mobile. "A brand-new Microsoft " before you use it make sure you have an Internet connection available and first things first Setup your Microsoft Account. This is any email account you have under microsoft (outlook, live or hotmail). It's a very important aspect on your device as it will help you have access to any microsoft product. Without this you can't install any apps on the phone. Well some might say otherwise but skipping the Microsoft account can only lead to more pressing matters in the near future when you are failing to update the phone, and yes things get tougher on this de...

Factory Reset Protection (FRP) lock

Factory Reset Protection (FRP) I believe most of you have heard and even own the latest android devices, today our main focus is on android devices with versions ranging from 5.0 (lollipop) going up to 7.xx (naugat). There is a new security feature embedded so deep in the android system called the FRP. As we all know to fully finalise setting up the device we are required to sign in with a Google account. From there your device is ready for use. Now let's say you have used it for a while and now you want to sell it or you lost your phone, whatever the case but somebody did a full factory reset on your phone. Next time the phone boots up for the first time for them to set it up again, the FRP lock comes to play! The device will keep requesting to enter the previous Google account that was used to set up the phone. The lock is a security feature that comes up everytime your device goes through factory reset. Otherwise the phone remains unusable. Offcourse the lock goes away as soo...

WhatsApp statuses right in your android phone

Hey guys, well today want to talk about how you can get pics, GIFs, or even VIDs from a status your friend or contact are posting. I remember everytime I posted something funny on my whatsapp, people would first watch it from their phone but then still text me back. Asking if I could send them directly. All that stops today, right now! Make sure you have a "file manager" in your phone . When you open your file manager look for a whatsapp folder. Inside you find ;databases, media, backup etc. Open the media folder, here we find lots of folders, but look for anything that says statuses. Below is our path: (Device storage>whatsapp>media>.statuses) Following our path we arrive where whatsapp stores all the viewed statuses before it deletes after 24 hrs. Well what are you waiting for? Copy whatever you can! Time is running out.

New WhatsApp feature

The new whatsapp status feature has brought too much buzz. Most people seem dazzled and some feel like the new status feature is complicated. I thought so too but until I played around a bit, then it hit me! WhatsApp has taken a new step to give us more room to share whatever we are doing with our friends and family. When you have installed this new version and you are all set, you first arive on your chat tab. On that screen you find all your recent chats. Scrolling to the right you find the camera, and going back swiping to the left skipping "Chats tab" then you find yourself on Status tab (this is where it get interesting hehe) Status tab/screen Since you are new, the only thing you will find is a default tutorial. It talks about how you can update your new status (by posting PICs, GIFs, or VIDs) which will disappear after 24 hours. Now that being said. Here's what has to be understood, that whole area the "status screen" will now and so forth seem lik...

Apps of the Month - SHAREit, Xender, Zapya, Share Apps, SuperBeam

These are free applications to transfer files from a Wi-Fi compatible device to another similar one. Users can use it to transfer files including photos, videos, music, contacts, apps and any other files. Depending on a specific app, they allow Windows, Windows Phone, Android, and iOS devices to transfer files directly by ad-hoc Wi-Fi connections. In addition to transferring files, these apps services also include CONTROL and CLONEit. The apps offer faster speed than Bluetooth and even NFC, and it is totally secure, considering the type of connection it uses to transfer files. The only best method for file transfer was either through Bluetooth, or USB drives. In case of Bluetooth, the speed was adequate, while the USB drive case had a negative side. That negative side was the chances of getting malicious data or file transferred from one device to another, thus, hurting the foreign device or PC in connection. Looking at the unsafe protocol offered by USB drives, and slow speed of B...
