It might seem obvious talking about 4G right now, cos that's what is on everyone's mind. But it has come to my attention that most of the people don't exactly know what 4G is confidently. Some are even paying money to crooks so that their handset becomes 4g.
In simple terms, 4G is a kind of network that is very fast and it offers a wide range of high quality internet services such as internet calls and video conferencing. And secondly 4G is also an advance handset; smartphone. Now here is where it gets deep, not any smartphone, but some new models have a motherboard thus embedded or built in, equipped to operate a 4g network. That being said 4g is not a software module that you can install rather it's a hardware facility that is built within the device like a radio. As you can see no one can upgrade a 2g device to 4g as some are claiming before you offer them money.
As of right now when the service providers are telling you of 4 & 4.75G they are talking of the network they are broadcasting. You may wonder why your old device is still picking the network they are broadcasting. In real sense the network is comprised of 2g all the way to the latest generation (G) until they decide to turn off the old network to clear the airwaves. So how does 4G work? To experience the better quality and fast internet services you need to get your hands on a latest smartphone which in this case is 4g compatible. Otherwise you will hear of 4G while your phone is still sloppy and slow sometimes you can't even download a thing cos your phone is 2G compatible.
Additionally you may be wondering why you need to get a 4G SIM card. Right? The new SIM could be customized to work better and faster with 4g network but like I said you can only realise change if you have a 4g compatible phone.
Oh yes before I forgot, 4g is also called LTE (Long Term Evolution)
