Have you ever been stuck in excel spreadsheets, kufika pothedwa nzeru where by, you have cells consisting of different variables and spaces; to understand where am driving at (see image below)
and you want to split these variables into individual cells respectively (see image below to understand)
If we were dealing with a small amount of data in our spreadsheet, I understand one can easily split the contents, manually, thus despite the fact that the operation itself being tiresome and time consuming, but the point is it can be done. However, if we have countless cells, it is clearly impossible to do manually. And that's where the headache comes in.
There's a tool called Kutools. This software once installed it becomes present, embedded in the excel menu ribbon.
This tool has so many capabilities, but for today, our major focus is splitting contents of cells.
Alright, first we select our data, defining our scope, by highlighting.
Then on the menu ribbon, we select Kutools. Items under Kutools will appear revealing many functionalities. by the way, keep in mind we highlighted cells. Now under "Ranges & Cells" click on "Merge & Split", then click "Split Cells"
Immediately a window popup appears. There are 3 fields of concern here. Luckily our highlighted cells have already been shown in "Split range:"
The other two fields "Type" and "Split by" are self explanatory. By clicking "OK" a new windows pops up again,
It is asking us where to drop the results of what we are doing. If previously you chose your type as "Split to Row" the result will be pasted in Row form regardless of how structured the highlighted cells are, and if your choice was "Split to Column" then the results can be in Column form.
By using your mouse, select a blank cell on the spreadsheet, to let Kutools know where it should begin pasting results. After making a selection and clicking "OK", the variables will be placed in individual cells respectively.
